Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

Review

A bit of a snooze fest and slightly disappointing compared to my actual expectations. All in all a good movie, but I feel that the wow factor had already been taken when the first movie was released. This time I watched and thought "okay, this was done before," and I waited for something intense. There were only two fight scenes that actually amazed me throughout the entire film. These were... when Optimus ends up with Megatron's sword through his spark and the very last fight with "The Fallen" (which by the way is the Decepticon's name ...??).

It would have been more effective if they had not shown that massive desert constructicon over a million times on commercials. The first time I saw that I couldn't fathom any of it! By the time I sat and watched the movie I couldn't care about it.

My only other con for this movie is that they had WAY to many easy laughs; such as two massive wrecking balls for the constructicons testicles... OoOoOoOo I hadn't seen that one coming! And don't forget a cracked out mother after eating special brownies! Because that's not an easy laugh either! I prefer the sarcasm, which did enter from time to time otherwise it was not exactly a laugh out loud movie unless you think stupid things are hilarious.

On a positive note, Micheal Bay did learn from his mistakes with the previous fight scenes and decides to slow them down every so often so the audience can catch up with all the CGI blurs. He also zooms out so you can actually figure out what you're looking at and who it is that's talking. I remember asking myself during the first movie "is that Star Scream or Blackout I am looking at... OH it's Blackout, never mind".

Overall, I give this movie a 6 for the corrections made on their previous mistakes but I suppose it's mostly the advertising that destroyed my personal expectations.

An Interesting E-mail Sent To Me

This is something we should all read at least once a week Written By Brett, 90 years old, author of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland ,

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me... It is the most-requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone...

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ’In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive everyone everything.

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42. The best is yet to come.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Thank You!

Four months ago, I took a thirteen hour flight to the land of the rising sun for a taste of what Japan had to offer. The moment we landed, a huge smile spread across my face as I knew we were now in the country I had been longing to see.

As if I knew what to expect, the country threw even more at me. It gave me what I wanted and more. I can understand why most people would and will not leave the seductive country and I am envious of those who are able to live there even for a year.

However, I h
ave been given the opportunity to go once more within six months of my last adventure. My Dojo has been invited to attend a kata and kobudo tournament as well as a training seminar with well respected Sensei's of other styles. But it has been and still is a difficult challenge funding such an event but thanks to many friends and family, they have pushed me another step forward to getting me there.

I want to thank every one of them for the donations they have made. It mea
ns a lot to me to know that I have their support. This also goes out to anyone who may still assist in the financial need for the journey.

Thank you, James Wyatt

My goal is $700.00 however I am currently sitting at $470.00. I have three days left to raise the $700.00! Please support your community athlete's and donate! Every little amount counts!

Just go to THIS LINK to view the homepage. If it does not work, please go to www.fundable.com and search "Okinawa".

UP

The movie "UP" is a hilarious, emotional, enjoyable ride which takes you all the way to South America where an old man and a young boy scout slowly become the best of friends during their adventure.

In the first twenty minutes of the film you're introduced to the main character and shown the life events that lead to his complicated plans raising his house off the ground. Marrying his childhood friend, Carl and Ella are determined to raise money to go to South America for their own adventure but it slowly dies as they keep putting it aside. Getting older, Ella passes and leaves Carl by himself. Not wishing to move as high rises are built all around him, Carl is nearly forced to leave until he decides to take his house with him.

It's while he is in the air you are introduced to Russel again, a young chubby little boy who is determined to earn his last merit badge in the boy scouts... helping the elderly.

They both land in South America and have their destiny set as they are found by the famous beast who Carl's childhood hero is hell bent to capture. It's through this that Carl and Russel grow closer together as Carl realizes that he has to let go of the past for him and Ella lived their lives which was her adventure and now it's Carl's turn to have his.

The movie was sweet as you see an old man become a child once again. The cleverness behind each character is memorable. Hilarious and exciting I give this movie a 9 out of 10 for it was to short! But holds a nine for being classically funny like all the other Pixar creations.
